Der Verband wurde im Oktober 1999 auf Betreiben von Georg und Regina Meindl sowie Martin Hölzl gegründet und hatte vom Jänner 2000 bis Oktober 2002 M. Ikeda Sensei, 7. Dan Aikikai, Shihan und Schüler von Tada Sensei, 9. Dan Aikikai, als technischen Direktor. Ausserdem war Ikeda Sensei 5. Dan Sumo und 4. Dan Judo.

Nunmehr gibt das Aikikai in Tokyo die technische Richtlinie vor. Es wird daher der Hombu Dojo Examination Code als Ausbildungsschlüssel herangezogen.

Es steht den Dojos des Verbandes frei seine Prüfungsrichtlinien in den Technikpool des Verbandes einzubringen. Sie müssen mit dem Hombu Dojo Examination Code (dieser stellt Mindestanforderungen dar) kompatibel sein.

Der Anschluss an das Aikikai wird durch die "Verantwortliche Person" (person in charge) garantiert. Seit 2006 wird der Verband von Hombu Dojo anerkannt.

Die "Verantwortliche Person" garantiert nicht nur den Anschluß an das Hombu Dojo/ Aikikai, sondern ist gegenüber Hombu Dojo auch verantwortlich, dass die technischen Richtlinien des Verbandes mit dem Hombu Dojo Examination Code zu vereinbaren sind.

Ca. 300 aktive Mitglieder bilden zur Zeit den Stamm des Verbandes. Dabei sind die Kinder nicht mitgerechnet.

Unser Verband versteht sich als Plattform unabhängiger Dojos mit freien Richtlinien (übereinstimmend mit oben definierten Regeln). Jeder Aikidolehrer innerhalb des Verbandes stellt daher eine eigene Richtlinie dar.

Innerhalb des Verbandes finden sich nicht nur Dojos aus Österreich sondern auch Dojos aus Deutschland, Kroatien und der Slowakei.



The federation was founded in October 1999 by instigation of Georg and Regina Meindl and Martin Hölzl. M. Ikeda Sensei, 7th Dan Aikikai, Shihan, student of Tada Sensei, 9th Dan Aikikai was the technical diector from January 2000 to October 2002. Ikeda Sensei was also 5th Dan Sumo and 4th Dan Judo.

At present, the technical principles are provided by the Aikikai Hombu Dojo in Tokyo. Therefore, the Hombu Dojo examination code is used for training.

The federation's dojos may integrate their examination principles into the federation. They must be compatible with the Hombu Dojo examination code, which specifys the minimum standards.

The connection with the Aikikai is guaranteed by the "person in charge". Our Aikikai federation is recognized by the Aikikai Hombu Dojo since 2006.

The "person in charge" guarantees not only the connection with the Aikikai Hombu Dojo, but is also responsible to the Hombu Dojo for the federation's principles concordance with the Hombu Dojo examination code.

Currently, the federation has about 300 active members (children not included).

Our federation understands itself as a platform of independent dojos with independent principles (according to above defined rules). Every Aikido instructor of the federation impersonates his own principle.

Within der federation not only Dojos from Austria but also Dojos from Germany, Croatia and Slowakia are members.
